Dec. 06, 2023 — Addison Karsak, who goes by Addi, encourages Shockers to get involved with the campus community and to make sure to seek advice when they feel they are struggling. She will receive her Bachelor of Arts in Exercise Science with a minor in Health Management and hopes to continue her education by getting her Doctor of Chiropractic after graduating.

Dec. 05, 2023 — Joe Mazzara is a GSA serving as the assistant director of Wichita State Esports, an opportunity that initially drew him to WSU. He was also a featured guest on the September 2023 episode of President Rick Muma's "Forward Together" podcast. After graduating with his master’s degree, he plans to pursue additional education by pursuing his doctorate.

Sept. 27, 2023 — Wichita State University's efforts to transform the educational experience for students and redefine the role of a university to foster statewide economic growth have yielded remarkable results: the highest enrollment in its 128-year history.

Sept. 5, 2023 - “Teaching is for Superheroes!” offers “insight and inspiration for your classroom (tights and cape optional.” It’s targeted at new, veteran and aspiring teachers and uses superhero archetypes to help educators understand their role, improve their skills and maintain enthusiasm during a challenging time.

July 28, 2023 - Eight students representing six WSU colleges recently participated in the Lead for Tomorrow Leadership Academy in the Cohen Honors College. Five faculty members led the interdisciplinary course presenting content from their field focused on the theme “Connected Leadership: Creating a Community of Leaders.” Students then were tasked to apply course content to challenges presented by local community partners.

July 5, 2023 — A new Wichita State University initiative is aimed at addressing the critical shortage of educators in special education and elementary classrooms.

May 11, 2023 - Lucy Schneider, a sport management major, jumped into applied learning opportunities with Wichita State’s athletic department and will use those experiences as she pursues her master’s degree.

May 3, 2023 — Mary Elizabeth Thornton is ready to put her education at Wichita State University into practice and begin teaching mathematics to middle school students in North Carolina.

April 25, 2023 - John Kirk returned to college at Wichita State University to study vocal music and dive into activities. April 21, 2023 — Three Wichita State researchers have been awarded the John A. See Innovation Award. The award is given each year as a way to recognize novel ideas that have the potential to meet a market need and attract further funding once they have advanced through the early prototyping phase.

April 3, 2023 — A user experience (UX) Austin research firm has discovered a secret ingredient in its recipe for success: Wichita State University students. In the past decade, several students have found their way to Human Interfaces, an Austin UX firm, for both applied learning experiences and full-time careers.
